Cricket Australia named its ODI squad for the tour with Mitchell Marsh as captain, confirming that vice-captain Pat Cummins and fast bowler Mitchell Starc will sit out the Zimbabwe leg entirely and join the squad only for the subsequent South Africa series.

Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from the ODI squad, with uncapped batters Joel Davies and Oliver Peake included as selectors look to build depth ahead of next year’s World Cup.

This series is one leg of a longer Australian tour of southern Africa: the squad plays South Africa in ODIs first, then travels to Zimbabwe for this series, before returning to South Africa for a three-match Test series against the reigning ICC World Test champions.
